Dhan Tamang has been the UK Latte Art Champion for the last five years – and in 2016, he was a finalist in the World Latte Art Championship. So who better to pick up some new latte art designs and techniques from?
And in his upcoming book, Coffee Art: Creative Coffee Designs for the Home Barista, Tamang is sharing instructions on how to pour, etch, and sculpt 60 different designs. He starts from the very basics of latte art and makes his way up to competition-worthy pours. The book will be published by Cassell, an imprint of Octopus Publishing Group, with a suggested retail price of £10.

The tulip is one of latte art’s most basic, and most useful, pours. It looks pretty in its own right, but mastering this will also enable latte artists to pour more complex pours that feature combinations of tulips, rosettas, dots, and more.
The unicorn: this playful design can be poured as latte art or, as in the picture above, in cream art.
