2 Chainz Drinks Kopi Luwak With The Blossom Brewer Founder

In the third season of his “Most Expensive Shit” webseries for GQ, rapper 2 Chainz decides to go perhaps too literal with the show’s title by taste testing the highly controversial and culinarily indefensible Kopi Luwak coffee. And because the show is about making things as expensive as possible, Monsieur Chainz—as I assume he likes to be called when going hard with his pinky-out drinking style—enlists the help of Blossom Coffee founder Jeremy Kuempel to help bring the price tag just shy of the 10K mark.

To make the “$600 a pound” civet poop coffee (which is stupid and gross and had been kind of dying down, trend-wise, not unlike 2 Chainz himself), Kuempel of course brings his own creation, the $6,000 Blossom coffee brewer, as well as a $3,000 Mahlkonig EK-43 grinder. And while 2 Chainz has a few suggestions for how to make the Blossom worth the sticker price, like “[having] XM radio on it,” the rapper—who is smoking a blunt throughout the entire six-minute video—is more interested in the EK-43, because “you can grind anything you want in it,” as Kuempel notes.

The clip has all the tropes of the modern music video: weirdly high production value replete with lens flares, stacks of cash, and guest appearances, this time coming from professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston. And they also drink the kopi luwak coffee, out of pricier-than-average NotNeutral Lino cappuccino cups.

Don’t drink kopi luwak, but go ahead and click the clip. That way we can enjoy this video in the best way possible—together, incredulously, and not unlike 2 Chainz, who appears dubious throughout.
