In 2016, Tetsu Kasuya won the World Brewers Cup with the 4–6 method: between pours, he allowed all the brew to drip through the coffee. And even though this batch brewer was launched before Tetsu competed on the world stage, I can’t help but think of the 4-6 method when I hear about Ground Control.
Introducing The Ground Control Batch Brewer
The Ground Control batch brewer uses immersion-based brewing, but part-way through, the machine “vacuum” removes the water from the grounds. It then adds more water.
The company states that this distinctive brewing method creates an exceptional flavour profile. Baristas can control how much more water is added, and how many times, to further control the recipe.
