Coffee and books, books and coffee. They go together like, well..quite like nothing else in history, it turns out. And that’s certainly something to celebrate! We’re doing just that in partnership with Signature by Penguin Random House, in the form of a lovely new eBook: The Book Lover’s Guide To Coffee.
This guide is free, works across a panoply of devices, and looks especially great on eBook readers like Kindle or Nook. It includes contributions by authors like Mark Pendergast, Mason Currey, Murray Carpenter, and Morton Satin, plus stories from Sprudge staff writers Anna Brones and Hengtee Lim, an original cartoon by Natasha Minoso & Dr Gotham, a series of infographics on the wonderful intertwining world of coffee & books, and an introduction by Sprudge co-founder Jordan Michelman.
Here’s more on the project from our partners at Signature by Penguin Random House:
But there’s more to it than that. Coffeehouses have long acted as our “third places,” hotbeds of intellectualism where ideas are shared, argued, revised, and rinsed down with another invigorating cup.
It’s this open celebration of ideas that makes coffee and literature inseparable. To commemorate that union, we’ve created a free guide filled with the following:
- 6 authors on coffee’s cultural significance;
- The rituals of 7 famous coffee-obsessed authors;
- Infographics rich with caffeinated, bookish data;
- Tips on taking the perfect coffee + book photo;
- Brewing guides from Birch Coffee.
The Book Lover’s Guide To Coffee is available now from Signature by Penguin Random House. Because there’s nothing better than a cup of coffee and a good book.
