We care about sustainability in production. We care about sustainability in the coffee shop. So why don’t we talk about sustainability in roasting?
“Coffee [roasting] technology has not changed in about a 100 years,” says Jim Townley of Fresh Cup Roasters in a Tedx Talk – right before presenting a new type of roaster. One that uses only 5% of the energy of a normal roaster. One that is nearly smoke-free. One that’s electric.
And one that’s targeted at specialty roasters.
