What Happened at Mazzer & Mulmar ZM Filter Cup Competition?

Brewing competitions: a time to show off your skills, setting yourself against the coffee industry’s top baristas. Competing  will challenge you to create a winning recipe for your coffee. It’ll give you a platform on which to share your passion for coffee. And, what’s more, it’ll be a lot of fun.

And you don’t have to opt for the World Brewers Cup to take part in a brewing competition. Take the ZM Filter Cup Competition at London Coffee Festival 2017.

Strict Rules at ZM Filter Cup Competition

Over the course of three days, competitors were presented with a compulsory coffee, roasted by UK Roasting Champion Matthew Robley-Siemonsma of Prufrock; 96 degrees C water; and a Mazzer ZM grinder. They then had 45 minutes to dial in and serve their coffee.

With strict time frames and a compulsory coffee, this competition rewarded technical abilities and the ability to stay calm under pressure. See more in this video recap.
