Turn Your AeroPress Into A Cold Brew Tower With PUCKPUCK

Oh the AeroPress. You can turn it any which way and make a pretty good cup of coffee with it. And now there’s a new attachment that even allows you to make cold brew. Currently on Kickstarter, the PUCKPUCK turns any AeroPress into a mini cold brew tower.

The PUCKPUCK (not the Pok Pok, but I do really want chicken wings and papaya salad now, so thanks for that PUCKPUCK) is an adjustable plastic disc—or you know, a puck—that attaches directly to the AeroPress. Essentially a flow restrictor and dispersion screen, the PUCKPUCK allows you to adjust the drip rate using a simple twist. Even cooler, the system is built to use your standard water bottle as a reservoir. There is a 500ml water vessel you can use instead if you don’t want your setup to look all MacGyver-y, but then how would you impress all your office mates with your sweet coffee hacks?

The PUCKPUCK also comes with a free drip counter app, and while I’m not entirely sure what it does or how it integrates with a circular piece of plastic (it’s just a timer, right?), coffee apps are cool and the PUCKPUCK has a coffee app.

Though still in the Kickstarter phase, the PUCKPUCK has already met its funding goal, so it’s pretty much just a pre-sale with a sweet discount. Regularly retailing at $18 (or $30 with the vessel), backers can get their own PUCKPUCK for $16 or $28. Scheduled delivery for the finished product is estimated to be in March or next year.
