You probably know about coffee leaf rust. You might know about coffee berry borer. But how much do you know about the white stem borer?
This small black-and-white striped beetle – which can reach a length of 2 cm – lays its eggs in the stems of coffee plants. Then when these eggs hatch and the larvae have grown, they bore their way back out, destroying the tree in the process.
